Youth Central is a non-profit organization that offers meaningful volunteer opportunities to youth ages 12-18 through partnerships with various community agencies. During the 2011/2012 program year, we engaged approximately 3,280 youth who put in over 37,000 volunteer hours for 150 different agencies within the Calgary community!
Youth Central's volunteer projects assist agencies that provide critical support for the social issues within our city such as homelessness and hunger. Their youth can also be found throughout the community working with Mayor Nenshi to improve our city from a youth’s perspective, handing out grants to deserving youth-lead projects, planning community events to raise awareness on social issues, organizing conferences that focus on the environment, and writing lyrics with youth from the Calgary Young Offender Centre.
